Summary: The Tiham is the narrow western coastal region of Yemen on the Red Sea and home of the Tihami Arabs. In addition to poverty, literacy is one of the problems in the Tihami. In some villages there is not much more schooling than memorization of the Koran. One prevalent cultural tradition in all of Yemen is qat, a mildly narcotic leaf that is chewed for hours at a time. Qat holds a strong grip on Yemeni culture. The predominate culture in the Tihami centers around Islam, but sometimes tradition or cultural customs supersede Islamic law. Hospitality and generosity are highly valued among these people. The Tihami Arabs need easy access to resources like the JESUS Film and audio Bibles in their language, Taizzi-Adeni. Radio broadcasts can also help.
Obstacles: The Tihami Arabs live in Yemen and Saudi Arabia. Both countries are very hostile to Christian witness.
Pray for p g: Pray that those disillusioned by all the problems in Yemen would search until they find the truth that can set them free. Pray for a growing interest in Jesus among all the people groups of Yemen. Pray they would begin searching for God's spiritual power to preserve through life. Pray for a movement to Christ among the Tihami Arabs.

Summary: Muhamasheen mostly live in big city slums in fierce poverty and discrimination. Men work as street sweepers, women collect cans and bottles and both typically beg. There is no justice for them, nor is there education for their children.
Obstacles: Sometimes people who have only known severe poverty cannot see past their circumstances to visualize better futures. As encouragement, Scripture portions are available in their language, as well as gospel films and recordings.
Pray for p g: Pray for many in the tribe to seek and find almighty God. Pray for signs and wonders to confirm his word. Pray for many Muhamasheen families to be blessed as they allow him to transform their community. Few believers are known to exist among the Muhamasheen. However, pray for those who will soon come to know and follow Christ.

Summary: Somali people are one of the most homogenous people groups in Africa, speaking a common language and adhering to a single faith (Islam), although women do not wear customary veils, and sharing a cultural heritage. Most Yemen Somali are rural farmers, city dwellers, and nomadic shepherds. A growing number of Somali refugees have fled to Yemen in an attempt to escape Somali's civil war and crime.
Obstacles: Although Bible resources, written, audio, and visual exist in Somali, people remain unreached. Somalis have mingled numerous beliefs and practices with their Islamic religion causing much confusion.
How reach: Pray that God will cause the revelation of His love and His Word to move swiftly through Somali families and clans in Yemen until He is honored and worshiped by them. Humanitarian workers armed with God's Word are needed to show the love of God to Somali people in Yemen in practical ways.
Pray for church: Since movements are based on the authority of Scripture, pray that believers reproduce obedience-based discipleship groups. Pray that God will raise up bi-vocational lay leaders and creatively reveal avenues for sharing the gospel.

Summary: Up until 2014 many Sudanese Arabs in Yemen lived a decent, middle-class lifestyle. They worked in agriculture, construction, tourism, trade and manufacturing. Yemen was a very poor country before the civil war. Since the start of the Yemeni civil war, the Sudanese Arabs lives have been disrupted. Many have been killed, injured and displaced. Some have left Yemen and have returned to Sudan or attempted to get to the West. As Sunnis, most Sudanese in Yemen have supported the Sunni Yemeni government or tried to stay neutral.
Obstacles: In Yemen, there is no one to challenge the spiritual stranglehold of Islam. Like other peoples in Yemen, the Sudanese Arabs are not likely to meet someone who follows the Lord.
How reach: At the present time, many Sudanese Arabs need food, clean water and schools for their children. Teams of believers can go to Yemen and the refugee camps and attempt to meet those needs.
Pray for p g: Ask God to bring just and lasting peace to Yemen. Ask the Lord to call out prayer teams to break up the soil through worship and intercession. Pray that God will raise up long term workers to go to Yemen and join those who have already responded. Pray that the Holy Spirit will anoint Christian radio and TV broadcasts as they are aired among the Sudanese Arabs. Ask the Lord to raise up a church planting movement among the Sudanese Arabs for the glory of his name.

Summary: The tiny Yemeni island called Socotra is the largest in the Socotra archipelago. It is also named as a World Natural Heritage Site and described as “the most alien-looking place on Earth.” Some Socotrans raise cattle and goats; others sell dates, ghee, tobacco and fish. Politically, the Socotra archipelago joins with Yemen but geographically belongs to Africa. In 2021, the Socotra government exclaimed that the UAE has been violating the island and planning to control it for years. Although Christianity was introduced and faith was practiced for many years, Christianity in Socotra went into decline when a Muslim sultanate took power in the 16th century. Today, the Socotran are almost completely Sunni Muslim.
Obstacles: It would be extremely expensive and difficult for someone to go to Socotra.
How reach: Helping to restore Socotra's flora, fauna and fish will be a meaningful display of Christ's restorative work. The Socotrans also have dietary and medical needs.
Pray for p g: Pray that Christian satellite TV broadcasts would be made available in the Soqotri language. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send more laborers to the Socotran to tend a movement to Christ.

Summary: Gulf Arabic, also known as Arabiya, is the dialect of Arabic spoken mainly in the eastern half of Saudi Arabia and the nearby smaller countries such as Bahrain, Qatar and the UAE. It is also spoken by some in Yemen and Oman, two countries that border Saudi Arabia. Fewer people speak it in Yemen than one of the dialects collectively known as Yemeni Arabic.
Obstacles: The Gulf Arabs in Yemen have very few opportunities to cling to the one who is the way, the truth, and the life. Few Christ followers remain in that land where civil war reigns.
How reach: Gulf Arabs in Yemen cannot accept Christ's abundant life unless the Lord moves among them and sends workers.
Pray for p g: Ask the Holy Spirit to call people who are willing to go and share the love of Christ with Gulf Arabs. Ask God to raise up prayer teams who will begin breaking up the soil in Yemen through worship and intercession. Pray for a strong church planting movement among Gulf Arabs. Pray for leaders among the Gulf Arabs to welcome Christ's ambassadors into their communities so they can share the riches of his blessings.

Summary: Egyptian Arabs are known for their music, which is popular in many Arab countries, including Yemen. Egyptian Arabic is the most widely understood form of the language, because much of the Arab World's newscasts come from Egypt. Cairo is the center of Islamic publications and learning. There have been several times when Egyptian forces have entered Yemen. Yemenis no doubt feel dominated by the more powerful Egyptians.
Obstacles: Though there are Coptic Christians in Egypt, very few believers are in Yemen. It will be very difficult for anyone to reach these Sunni Muslims. Their trust is in the prophesies of Mohammed and the later teachings of Muslim experts called the Hadith.
How reach: Satellite TV programs like SAT-7 can reach this remote part of the Arabic-speaking part of the world. Someone could collect addresses to send them tracts, Bibles, and global recordings.
Pray for church: Pray that Egyptian Christians would start a mighty missionary movement to Yemen.
Pray for p g: Pray for an increase in finances and the ability to provide Bibles for the Egyptian Arabs. Pray that there will soon be a Christ-centered church planting movement among Egyptian and Yemeni Arabs in Yemen.
